No fodder? No Bother!! - Urgent loads of Hay



Between 1-500 loads of hay are on the way from the UK by way of Dairygold in Mitchelstown. Leadership on this issue has been given by Minister Coveney and MEP Sean Kelly along with senior members of the farming community as well as Dairygold CEO Jim Woulfe. They were all present for the delivery of the first 10 loads in Dairygold in Mitchelstown this morning. This project is being managed by Nolantransport.com and all concerned were given full view of all cargo both en-route and to be moved on Nolan Transports LIVE customer portal - the sense of urgency of this life saving cargo is real and this project is being headed by Noel Nolan and will continue for as long as it takes to overcome the current shortage.

Back in March a few of our staff decided to do fundraising for Pieta House  linking in with their Darkness Into Light event. After researching Pieta house they were made aware that It costs approximately €1,000 to successfully bring one person through a full suite of therapy sessions and into the light, they decided to set this as their target. Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA)

Changes taking place from January 2015 in relation to the European Union directive on Fuel Emission that all ferry operators operating in the Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA). The SECA zone includes English Channel and North Sea that we must travel though when moving your cargo going to/from Mainland Europe. The current maximum allowed Sulphur content in marine fuels is 1.0% and this will reduce to 0.1% within the Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA). Effectively this means that traditional heavy fuel oil used in freight ferries will be replaced with more refined fuel oil which is more expensive to purchase. All the various ferry operators within this area have slightly different but similar systems for calculating the SECA surcharges.
